Autumn in Krakow: Places You Shouldn’t Miss

Although I’m definitely more of a summer person, I have to admit that autumn in Krakow this year has been surprisingly lovely. So far, the weather has been gorgeous (knock on wood!) and we’ve been trying to make the most of it. After all, many spots in Krakow look absolutely magical dressed in golden leaves.

To inspire you to get out and about this fall, I’ve put together a list of places in Krakow that are worth visiting during autumn. I’ll keep updating this post with new gems as I discover them. Hopefully, by the end you’ll agree with me that autumn in Krakow can be truly enchanting!

1. Bulwar Inflancki – the golden maple alley

This alley along Rybaki Street is one of my all-time autumn favorites. When the maple leaves turn yellow, it looks like a golden tunnel — perfect for a walk or an impromptu photo shoot.

2. Krakus Mound – panoramic autumn views

Krakus Mound is beautiful year-round, but in autumn the views are especially striking. From the top you can admire Krakow’s skyline surrounded by colorful trees and the nearby Liban Quarry, which looks magical in fall colors.

3. Zakrzówek – colorful cliffs and cozy coffee

Zakrzówek is often crowded in summer, but in autumn it’s wonderfully peaceful. The contrast between the white limestone cliffs and the colorful trees is breathtaking. After your walk, stop by Cafe Zakrzówek for a warm coffee or tea with a view of the lake bathed in autumn hues.

4. Nowa Huta Reservoir – golden reflections

Is it worth visiting Nowa Huta in autumn? Absolutely! The trees around the reservoir glow in shades of yellow and orange, and their reflections in the water create a stunning scene. Plus, you’ll find lots of attractions nearby — from a playground and outdoor gym to a salt graduation tower, fountains, and even a dog park.

5. Pumpkin Garden “Dyniolandia” ????

A brand-new addition this year near the Nowa Huta Reservoir! Dyniolandia offers pumpkin-themed photo spots, a straw maze, kids’ workshops, and food trucks. Open until the end of October, it’s a must-visit for families and anyone who loves cozy autumn vibes.

6. Przylasek Rusiecki – wooden paths and golden hour

This area comes alive in autumn. Walking along the wooden paths among colorful trees mirrored in the water at golden hour is an unforgettable experience. Kids will love the playground here too.

7. Park Lotników & Krakow’s “Maldives”

On your way back from Nowa Huta, make a stop in Czyżyny. Park Lotników is stunning in autumn, with tree-lined paths and a picturesque pond nicknamed the “Krakow Maldives” by locals. Don’t miss a coffee break at Malediva Cafe right by the water.

8. Planty Park – golden heart of the Old Town

Encircling Krakow’s historic center, Planty is at its most beautiful in autumn. The tree-lined alleys covered in golden leaves are a must-see for anyone strolling around the city.

9. Meho Cafe & Mehoffer Garden

Just off Planty on Krupnicza Street, you’ll find this hidden gem. Meho Cafe sits inside the former home of artist Józef Mehoffer, and the attached garden transforms into a colorful oasis in autumn. It’s hard to believe such a peaceful spot exists right in the city center!

10. Pumpkin Garden at Lime & Spicy

Looking for Instagram-worthy autumn backdrops? The pumpkin garden at Lime & Spicy offers a straw maze, a witch’s hut, and plenty of seasonal decorations. Entry is free if you’re dining at the restaurant, otherwise just 15 PLN. Perfect for cozy fall photos!
